A note on phonetic transcriptions: Given the limitations of word processors and web page editors, it was necessary to make a few substitutions for the French nasal vowels that are found in the following French words: vin (Ê), dans (â), bon (ô), and un (û). The first one is a capital E with a circumflex accent. The second, third, and fourth symbols are the letters a, o, and u, also with a circumflex accent. If you are already familiar with the International Phonetic Alphabet, you will notice that these nasal vowels are normally represented with different symbols. It is also important to note that the 'r' was transcribed with a capital R, a convention used quite often (especially for French). In La Grande Séduction and Père et fils there are certainly some different 'r' sounds (which is also the case of other parts of the Francophone world), but analyzing them is beyond the scope of this project. Therefore, all tokens of 'r' have been transcribed with the upper-case R.
