STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM IN

CUERNAVACA, MEXICO

(June 5 - July 12, 2009)

  • This is a faculty-led program.  Dr. Beckman will be in Cuernavaca with the students.

  •  Earn 9 credits in 5 weeks. Six credits will be UNT’s  and three will be transferred.

  •  Live with a Mexican family where no English will be spoken :)  Double occupancy.

  •  Study in a Mexican University: Universidad Internacional (UNINTER).

  •  Immerse yourself in the culture and the language.

  •  Study during the week and travel during the weekends (6 tours included in the cost):

    • Tepoztlan       

    • The Basilica de Guadalupe and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan

    • Historical Mexico City and the Anthropology Museum

    • Taxco – Silver City

    • Mexico City: Frida Kahlo’s house/museum, Dolores Olmedo’s house/museum, and Coyoacan.

    • Two-and-a-half days and three nights in Acapulco (meals in Acapulco not included)

 

  • Experience life in "La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera" (City of Eternal Spring).

  • Financial Aid is available.  A $500.00 scholarship is given on a first come first served basis.

  • Medical personnel available on campus at no extra cost Monday - Saturday.

  • Money exchange available on campus.

  • Affordable additional half-day, full-day and weekend trips are available to places such as Puebla, Grutas de Cacahuamilpa, Xochicalco, and many others.

  • Forms for scholarship and application available at UNT's Study Abroad Center's website.  Fill out and take to Dr. Beckman for her signature in LANG 403D.   Minimum GPA 2.5  Please also bring your unofficial transcript showing your latest GPA.

 

 

Informational meetings will take place on October 16th, November 6th, and November 25th in LANG 107 at 3:30 p.m.
