Purpose of the Study
To determine how and to what extent new technologies are being used by
teachers and learners of French.
Description of the Study
Through the use of
surveys, our primary goal is to understand in more detail where and to
what extend old and new technologies are used by students and teachers
of French in a variety of educational contexts (elementary, middle, and
high schools as well as colleges and universities).
Participation will require approximately 20 minutes for this
questionnaire.
You will not be asked to complete both questionnaires at the same time.
Most people will only be asked to complete Questionnaire 2 (the national
phase of the study).
Procedures to be used
Participants will be asked to complete an on-line questionnaire with
questions related to the use of old and new technologies for learning
and teaching French.
Description of the
foreseeable risks
There are no special risks, other than those encountered in everyday
life.
Benefits to the subjects
or others
This is the first national survey related to the use of technology for
learning and teaching French. As such, the results will allow teachers,
students, administrators, and institutions to understand how and to what
extent technology of different kinds is being used across the country in
a variety of settings.
Procedures for
Maintaining Anonymity
No information will be gathered that could be used to identify any
participant personally in this study. If any participant includes any
such information in the boxes for comments, the information will be
replaced with generic labels.
